Documents are an important resource. The entire web is founded on the basis of sharing documents and information; the "d" in DECIMAL stands for document; so it should come as no surprise that we have document features in the Decimalware family.
Every organisation produces documents. These can be internal or external and for a myriad of purposes. Decimalware is involved in the entire document lifespan. Documents being moved across the organisation "wall", whether they are posted, emailed, faxed or downloaded can be noted in the Correspondence section for archiving and future retrieval - and the edition that was actually sent or received, not some subsequent version on your servers. By centralising your document store and web enabling it, your entire team can get access to any document in your organisation, simply by having access to an Internet browser.
Documents can be attached to all kinds of information in the application: instructions; locations; news articles; organisations and requests of various kinds. Networks also have their own folder for document sharing, so when coupled with the network privacy settings, documents can be restricted to very fine grained lists of users.
Documents of all sizes (configurable) can be uploaded and shared. Document download and access statistics are also kept.
Advanced functionality coming in 2011 includes check-in / check-out document locking - so your team members can't simultaneously edit a document, versioning and version roll-back, Windows based software for local document manipulation and mobile tools.
